I worked with Madison, Sam, and Avery to complete a stop motion animation using paper. Sam, Avery and I adjusted the figure for each frame while Madison did most of the video taking. We worked on this project mutually to get it done.
I Create Original Art
I feel like we created original art in this piece by making a totally new theme for our animation. The theme we chose to do was kind of a time loop, where the figure goes through the same series of actions until he gets to the end, where he starts the cycle all over again. Of course, this idea might have been used before, but I think we incorporated our own ideas enough so it ended up being completely original.
I Take Risks
We totally took a risk doing stop motion animation for one thing, and took an even bigger risk deciding to use paper. It did prove to be tough, having to move each little joint every time we did a new frame. But, in the end, I say it was completely worth it. You feel a pretty big sense of accomplisment after you moved the paper 187 times!
