I Create Original Art
I feel like I created original art for this piece. First off, I chose shoes. When you think about it, there aren't many pieces of art out there that involve shoes solely (no pun intended) as their main focus. I mean, there ARE going to be pieces out there like that, but they aren't as common as pictures on soup cans or cake. Mostly, artists chose something a bit "prettier" than an everyday shoe. This originality even reflected in people's critiques of my art; nearly all of the comments stated that this was "an original and creative idea".
I Take Risks
I felt like I took a huge risk with drawing a shoe, mostly because I was afraid I'd mess up the patterns and shape of the shoes. Shoes aren't as simple as drawing an oval and calling it a Mona Lisa; they require you to draw many different aspects and angles. Granted, I DID feel like challenging myself to try and draw perhaps one of the most neglected segments of a full body drawing. I found it especially hard to draw the patterns and shadows of the shoe, because there were so many creases and angles that it was hard to match it all up properly. In addition, the natural shape of the shoe can prove to be difficult to draw as well. If the lines aren't drawn in the correct manner, the shoe can end up looking VERY weird...
